Your writing takes me to a deeper way of thinking about creativity and now almost as a new entity- a relationship with my creativity. I will attempt to respond to your questions and ponderings. My creativity pops up here and there throughout the day, and my love of nature grounds me daily. It seems the relationship with my creativity is based in my joy of fiber crafts-wool appliqué, sewing, and even noting the complexity and extraordinary talents of fiber artists. I enjoy the feel of fabrics and threads, the smell of wool, the skill and talent required, the use of colors and the complexity of process in order to create a product. Time and energy thwart my ability to immerse myself more often into this realm; however, that is ok! I will soon be there again maybe an hour or a day to disappear into a creative journey.

Kaye, I love your description of the sensory qualities of the fibers and fabrics you work with. I have been working with clay a lot this week and feel like it grounds me, in part because it is mud. I've done a little bit of work with wool felting and feel a similar sense of wonder and connection to nature with this material because it comes from the natural world. Something about fibers feels very connected to the patterns and connections of nature to me. I guess most materials come from the natural world and natural resources in some way but I feel a special connection and grounding with materials like wool, wood and clay that are minimally processed. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on your process too.

Kathryn, I love this and it deeply resonates. It resonates because I see my deep need and that my hopes and dreams happen in courting creativity, and focussing on tending relationships, and in becoming unstuck from some things. It's so helps to be pointed to nature, and wonder, when we move, will I have a tree to get to know and that knows me? I love that you imprint your story in nature and relationship. I am encouraged and inspired, and can't wait to read your book. 💚

Thanks, Annie. I love to imagine the new trees just awaiting your arrival and getting to know you and your stories and imagination once you reach your new home.
