This new year I’ve been going outside first thing in the early morning while my coffee brews to take deep breaths of fresh air, greet the sun and say thank you. I feel so alive at that moment and know that whatever happens the rest of the day, I’ve taken the time to be blessed and renewed in this only life I have. It feels good.
This is a beautiful practice, thank you. I walk early in the morning and try to remember to pause and greet the day too. Sometimes I am cold and rushed and forget - your practice is a good reminder to me that getting out early is about presence and gratitude too.
There is nothing quite like one-on-one coffee shop conversation but I’m glad we live in a world where we can connect virtually with other souls who are alive too. 😊
Yes, me too. And since writing this I have been thinking about the kind of connections we have on-line - I am really grateful for chances to meet face to face and have conversations mediated by zoom. The chance to attend an event "live" at a distance has a different energy to watching a recording. It has prompted me to think more about ways technology enables showing up for each other.
Kathryn, we are aging in place, the weather is up and down and it is difficult to show up. So it's a bad day for me to reply because hard as we try, one of us can't always make it depending on the day. I prefer Zoom meetings until DayLightSavingTime is happening and hope we never have to go off in the Fall (just getting this in now.) Thanks I know showing up is important but sometimes, it is just too difficult.
Your comment challenges me to think about how we can show up for each other on zoom too. Two of my most valuable gatherings each week happen on zoom with friends from across the country and around the world.
I do feel like I show up in these spaces to my friends and their lives. Our gatherings are very much alive! We follow a routine for our meetings but there are always surprises along the way, things that occur within the gathering that we didn't plan but emerge from our meeting. So you've encouraged me to see how we do show up to something alive and to each others' lives when we gather on zoom.
Thanks for that. I also think of your comments here in the past about your attention to the light and the natural world around your home in all seasons, this is a showing up too even from home.

Hi Barbara,

I'm grateful for your showing up here too,
Kathryn
Sometimes, when I'm stuck and out of sync, I need to gather courage to show up for something alive - me.
Thank you for your words, Kathryn!
Yes, I love this, thank you!
