I just love your post, Kathryn! On World Labrynth Day, I walked a beautiful labrynth in the Chorro Valley close to our home and didn't realize it was actually World Labrynth Day! I was just drawn to that place and decided it was the day to follow that path. It was so peaceful and the surrounding hills were green/golden and long grass swaying in the wind. Your book has a timeline of its own, your creative journey writing this story has been inspiring to follow. Paying attention to the seasons in your life is a central theme. I'm making a winding path through my yard that has a couple of forks, some decision points. It's in process and I'm looking forward to seeing where it takes me. Keep following your curiosity and thanks for bringing us along. <3. Jenna in Cali

Jenna, I love the seredipity of you being drawn to and walking a labyrinth on world labyrinth day. If you have any photos of the labyrinth you walked, I would love to see. It sounds beautiful.

Kathryn, I love the Courting Creativity Color Wheel showing ways to circumambulate around the colors, looked up that word and it is to honor by walking around something you honor. I can follow this wheel. I can't walk the labyrinth anymore so I can move myself around the wheel enjoying the mystery and moving on the path I find I am on. Thanks, I love your creativity.

Barbara, I love what you said about honoring by walking around. The walking makes it a sacred center. I am also glad that the images offer you a chance to circumambulate the labyrinth in a different way - there are so many ways to move through our journeys. I am thankful for your connection and sharing.

Thank you, my friend. It's a surprising place to be when I thought I had a plan but I'm trying to remain curious as the path turns out to be more windy than I expected!

Wonderful article, Kathryn! The color wheel symbol for book sections is brilliant. And combining it with a labyrinth is nothing less than genius.

My art is definitely a seasons and cycles path. Because my studio is unheated, I do very little sculpting in the coldest months, and instead focus on the holidays, reflecting and planning for the next year, and other creative work. But when Spring arrives, other things can influence my journey- especially my creative and mental energy. That’s why I love the term “seasons”. These creative or non creative periods have a beginning, a middle, and an ending- but often I don’t know how long a season will last. It lasts as long as it lasts. It may be a short or long season. And since I started using the term season, I’m a little less critical of myself.

Thanks for being a friendly fellow traveler on my creative journey.

Jeff, your description of seasons is SO helpful, especially the way they can have varied lengths. I have recently been noticing how I focus best on writing in the colder months when it is easier to be inside. Now that it is warmer, working in the garden and with clay out on the porch are more of a draw. I have been thinking I need to stick to my intention to write but then writing becomes more of a "should" and less of a joy. Noticing ways that different kinds of creative work have different seasons is a helpful exercise too. You have offered me food for thought on my journey too, thank you.
