Sadly during Covid I was on a Committee that had to meet on Zoom for a lengthy period of time which was wonderful but just as it was wrapping up my Husband had a hospital stay and then another which was more serious so today after my health issue of last April I am still at a place (my dining room) as my work place. My Filing Space is limited and has to be moved to the basement about this time of the year for Taxes. However, I am grateful to be able to maintain the Dining Room as Work Space as it keeps me on one floor during the day. I look forward to SOME DAY returning to the basement and being able to sort through all papers to discard and Begin Again as we always Begin Again. Glad you were able to manage your Orderly Space. You have given me hope of a process.

Glad you are finding a suitable work space at your dining table through so many transitions, first the pandemic and then health challenges for both members of your household. The kitchen table is a favorite work space for everyone here too.

Thanks for sharing your sacred space before and afters. Do I see a changing table repurposed? and just yesterday I dreamed of a way to create a kitchen table feel to my space. This is central to the Cancer Support community's creative gathering spot in DE. For now, I removed an unused daybed and in it's place a door over a narrow desk to enlarge my tabletop. My challenge is to keep it clear!

I love bookmaking and Paulus Berensohn's video was a recollection of classes we had in Scotland and MN .

So glad you enjoyed the video - it's been a while since I have made books but the video definitely inspired me to get back to it.

And you see a repurposed crib. It's a fold up wooden one we found on the curb - converted to a table/dog kennel. Java likes to be nearby when I work. In the before photo it has a drawing board attached so I could work on papercuts standing. Now that I am in a season of writing it is a table for supplies (and still a cozy spot beneath for Java).

Kathryn, this was a wonderful and helpful reflection prompt for me, inspiring some thoughts that I might have never considered.

I simultaneously love orderly spaces, yet have little ability to keep them that way. Consequently, my physical work spaces are usually in some phase of disarray. And when I reflect on my internal creative space, I also find two distinct spaces. It feels like I either create as a way of calming some inward storm, or as a way of caring for a plant that is slowly unfolding within me, and little in between. This is a new self-understanding, and one I need to sit with for a while. Thank you for helping me see something new.

Jeff, thanks for these images. You've given me a lot to ponder in my own process too. With your internal creative space images, I am struck by how both invite a sense of presence and calm. It maybe helps the storm to settle but it is also that same presence that helps something unfold within. The presence feels equally important with tender new growth because any overwhelming expectation can be detrimental to that natural unfolding. Will carry your images with me and keep reflecting on them and my own process.
