We have been so lucky to have experienced the Autumn weather lately, makes me feel so bad for all the people who are suffering through Hurricanes' Helene and Milton. But it also reminds me to be grateful for being able to sit in my dining room and see all the cardinals and their other feathered friends. I am Thankful for Leaf Showers" pointed out by Jenny.
This is so lovely, Kathryn. We are in the midst of autumn here in the Midwest, and the older I get the more I resonate with the bright beauty of it, the rich colors that grow more intensely day to day. Right outside our bedroom window is a large sugar maple, and as I sit in my reading chair with a glass of wine late on this October afternoon, the entire room is cast its rosy glow. I can’t help but pay attention! 🍁🍂
There is something about the way the light changes in the autumn that is just so captivating. I love thinking of you basking in the rosy glow cast by your maple.
Definitely my favourite season, for its sensory delights and the hope and promise that’s implicit in the letting go of superfluous things, knowing they will nourish what comes next. 🍂🍁🍂❤️
I was noticing "leaf showers" on a drive this morning. One of my favorite things!
I love the leaf showers this time of year, and watching the individual leaves slowly dance their way down on the wind.

Glad to hear about your cardinals and other feathered visitors. Keeping those rebuilding after the hurricanes in mind too.

Yes, the letting go, the clarity, and the composting to nourish what comes next. Thanks for naming all these things.
Love this season for its colour, freshness and that liminal space that allows for us to pause and take everything in.
yes, there is something about the light of fall that is so encouraging of pause and wonder.
"... what is ephemeral is also beautiful..." Yes. Thank you, Kathryn!
