Looking for a place to connect and create on Friday? Art at the Center will hold a community art gathering on January 20 from 10 am - 2 pm in White Hall at St Aidan’s Episcopal Church.
Join with others in creating around themes of community, connection, hopes, and dreams. We will have individual projects, collaborative pieces, and opportunities to make for others.
We ask for a $10 donation. Any proceeds above the cost of materials will be donated to the St Aidan’s Refugee Resettlement Fund and to UCM.
Attendees are encouraged to put aside electronic devices and to connect in real time with other makers and materials.
Feel free to drop by for as long as you like and to bring a friend. Bring a lunch or snacks to share, drinks will be provided.
“Great things are done by a series of small things brought together.” ~Vincent Van Gogh
Writing About Creative Practice
Sanctuary Studio Reflections began a year ago as a place to reflect on how creativity connects to contemplation. It includes stories from some of the workshops I led this year including the Sanctuary Studio at St Aidan's as well as examples from my own practice of art as a form of meditation in my personal work and as an Artist in Residence this past summer at Shrine Mont Art Camp.
366 Days of Making...

366 days of making is complete, a blog chronicling a commitment to a year of making everyday.

The practice of daily blogging was a great way to reflect on my practice and to be able to see how sometimes very small steps added up over time.
